By leveraging regional characteristics, these municipalities seek to become role models and foster collaboration with economic organizations, ultimately transforming Japan into a nation that recognizes and celebrates challenges. Current member cities include Aomori, Tōmiya, Tsukuba, Chiba, Shinagawa, Hamamatsu, Takaoka, Kitakyūshū, Fukuoka, Beppu, Kumamoto, and Kagoshima.
