In a strategic move to enhance its footprint in the senior care market, Tutera Senior Living & Health Care has officially acquired Ridgeland Senior Living in Matteson, Illinois. This upscale community, which has undergone significant investment and renovations, stands ready to welcome residents once again by early spring 2025.
A Revitalized Senior Living Option
Originally known as Alexi Senior Living, Ridgeland Senior Living was established in 2021 but closed its doors in 2022. Tutera is stepping in to breathe new life into the luxurious facility, which spans 81,589 square feet across 5.5 acres. The community will boast 55 assisted living units and 20 memory care units, designed to provide a high standard of care in a contemporary setting.
Joe Tutera, the CEO of Tutera, expressed enthusiasm about this acquisition, emphasizing the company’s ongoing commitment to performance excellence. He stated, “We’re pleased to bring this luxury senior living option back to life in Matteson.”
Since December 2024, Tutera has invested $200,000 in updates, which include improving safety protocols and upgrading mechanical systems with the help of Arch Design Builders. Minor remodeling efforts are also in progress to ensure that Ridgeland maintains its pristine condition, positioning it as a benchmark for senior living services in the area.
