Kabe no Ana's Historical Significance
Founded in 1953 under the name “Hole in the Wall,” Kabe no Ana was established by Takayasu Narimatsu, who is often credited as the father of Japanese spaghetti. The restaurant began as a small eatery in Chuo City, Tokyo, initially offering meat sauce spaghetti. Narimatsu’s journey in the culinary world led him to create over 200 unique spaghetti dishes, including those featuring traditional Japanese ingredients like natto and seaweed.
The name “Kabe no Ana” comes from Shakespeare’s play “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” symbolizing the connection and communication between people—an ethos that remains dear to our business today.
Kabe no Ana has always prioritized quality and customer interaction, ensuring that each dish is not just a meal but an experience shared with our patrons. We look forward to welcoming everyone to our grand appreciation festival and celebrating the rich legacy of Japanese spaghetti together!
