From July 10th to 16th, 2023, 109 Cinemas Tomiya will celebrate Miyagi-born animator Takuya Suzuki with a special screening of his works. This feature includes his esteemed debut film 'An Anonymous Life,' which took him a year and a half to create entirely on his own, earning acclaim at numerous film festivals worldwide.

Suzuki's journey began after graduating from Tohoku University of Art and Design, initially aspiring to be a live-action director. However, the pandemic shifted his focus to animation, leading to the production of short films that garnered several awards in Japan's indie film festivals.

During this week-long event, audiences can enjoy a selection of Suzuki’s works, including:

Additionally, the screenings will feature films that have inspired Suzuki, such as 'Memories of Murder,' 'Drive,' and 'Beast Must Die.' Notably, Suzuki will be present for Q&A sessions during the screenings on July 11th and 12th, discussing his creative process and experiences in the industry.
