Etajima City, located in Hiroshima Prefecture, is one of the most rapidly growing areas for Frescoball in western Japan. In addition to monthly experience sessions, this month also marks a special event focused on nurturing young Frescoball players, particularly those in their 20s. The Hiroshima Frescoball Club is committed to innovative activities, including the recent launch of
Frescoball Rice, a unique product approved by the JFBA, reflecting the club's dedication to promoting the sport and its cultural impacts.
The

“This is our first experience event in Etajima City. Our goal is to make Frescoball a staple beach sport alongside various other marine activities available in this beautiful area. We also aim to contribute to environmental protection through beach cleanup efforts, and we hope everyone can join us for a fun-filled day enjoying Frescoball!”
What is Frescoball?
Frescoball is a unique beach sport originating in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was created at Copacabana Beach in 1945 and has since gained popularity on beaches worldwide. The most distinctive feature of Frescoball is that it is not a competitive game; instead, it promotes cooperation between two players, who aim to maintain a rally. The game lasts for five minutes, with players keeping a distance of 7 meters apart. Due to its cooperative nature, it is sometimes referred to as a “sport of compassion.”
The JFBA is actively working towards unifying international rules, aiming to establish the world’s first international organization,
UAFI, in collaboration with the Rio Frescoball Federation (FEFERJ) by October 2025. The bright future of Frescoball is promising, as 29 regional clubs and six student organizations are currently registered in Japan.
Join us for this exciting event as we combine sports, community, and environmental appreciation!
