Presbyterian Healthcare Services Enhances AI Precision Care with GW RhythmX Expansion to 200 Clinicians
Expansion of AI Precision Care at Presbyterian Healthcare Services
In an innovative stride toward enhancing patient care, Presbyterian Healthcare Services (PHS) has extended the implementation of the RhythmX AI Precision Care Platform. This pivotal expansion will see the platform utilized by 200 primary care clinicians, marking it as one of the most comprehensive deployments of precision care AI technology to date.
The RhythmX platform was initially piloted, and its performance surpassed expectations by identifying critical patient conditions promptly. It reported a staggering 17,000 hyper-personalized treatment responses and significantly minimized the time clinicians typically spend on manual data retrieval, which has substantial implications for patient management and care delivery.
Impact and Functionality of RhythmX
Following the pilot launch, clinicians managed to identify and evaluate over 200 different health conditions, both Hierarchical Condition Categories (HCC) and non-HCC, during more than 10,000 patient interactions. Feedback from the users highlighted that tasks which would have taken hours of manual chart review could now be accomplished in minutes thanks to the integrated data presented in a streamlined workflow within their Epic Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Lori Walker, MSN, CNP, and Chief Medical Information Officer at PHS, stated, “We have patients who drive two hours for a 30-minute visit, and so we have to make every minute count.” The platform enables clinicians to access critical information quickly and answer patient-specific inquiries more effectively, allowing healthcare professionals to focus on building meaningful connections with their patients.
A Vision for High-Quality Care
PHS is one of the premier integrated delivery systems in the Southwest, catering to a broad and varied demographic across urban and rural settings. The organization is committed to minimizing administrative burdens while ensuring that healthcare providers have quick access to essential patient information during consultations.
Darren Shafer, D.O., President of the Presbyterian Medical Group, pointed out, “At Presbyterian, we seek solutions that deliver what we call triple value - benefiting the patient, aiding the clinicians, and creating measurable value for the healthcare system.” He emphasized that achieving this balance is crucial for their transformation journey and that the RhythmX AI platform aligns ideally with their healthcare vision.
Advantages of AI in Healthcare
Deepthi Bathina, the CEO of GW RhythmX, mentioned the indispensability of AI applications that incorporate robust user experiences and seamless integration into healthcare workflows. Bathina affirmed, “This type of enterprise-wide impact requires much more than AI models; it requires an intuitive user experience and trustworthy AI systems that clinicians can rely upon.” With this successful deployment, PHS showcases how properly applied AI can yield significant benefits for patients, healthcare providers, and health systems overall.
