New Hiyori Hotel Okinawa Nago to Open in July 2027

Hiyori Hotel Management Co., a subsidiary of Sun Frontier Real Estate Co. (TSE: 8934), has announced the opening of a new hotel, Hiyori Hotel Okinawa Nago, scheduled for July 2027. On August 27, 2025, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held with several stakeholders, including the mayor of Nago, to pray for the success of the project and the prosperity of the region.

Background of Hiyori Hotel Okinawa Nago Opening

Situated in the northern part of Okinawa Island, Nago City is poised for growth as it lies at the heart of East Asia, a region with a population of about 1.7 billion, and attracts nearly 10 million visitors annually. The recent expansion of Naha Airport has increased international flight accessibility, leading to a surge in inbound tourism—a key factor in the region's anticipated development. Nago City serves as the gateway to the Yanbaru rainforest, a UNESCO World Heritage site registered in July 2021.

The city is surrounded by an array of stunning tourist attractions, such as the Churaumi Aquarium, the picturesque Kouri Bridge spanning 1,960 meters, and the breathtaking Sesoko Beach known for its white sands and crystal-clear waters. Additionally, a large theme park, Junglia Okinawa, is set to open in July 2025, further enhancing the area's appeal. Income levels in certain areas remain lower than the prefectural average, and depopulation has been an ongoing concern.
