Yiwugo Reports Rising Demand for Stationery This Summer
With summer in full swing, Yiwugo.com, the official platform of the world's largest commodity wholesale market, announced a notable increase in the demand for stationery. As of August 12, 2025, a surge in the 'office and study supplies' category had propelled it to the 14th position among all product categories on the site. This uptick is likely attributed to the impending back-to-school season, which traditionally ushers in a wave of purchases for essential educational supplies.
Stationery, often regarded as a stable segment of the consumer goods market, has experienced an unexpected boom over the past month. According to various merchants operating through Yiwugo, there is a marked increase in orders for both general office supplies and themed stationery products, particularly those featuring beloved cartoon characters.
Spotlight on Leading Suppliers
Among the prominent suppliers is Jiangsu Dehuang Stationery Co., Ltd., which boasts nearly three decades of industry experience and cutting-edge design and manufacturing capabilities. The company is celebrated for its partnerships with well-known international brands, including Germany’s Staedtler and Faber-Castell, along with France’s Maped. Dehuang's offerings range from correction tools to sticky notes and vibrant art crayons.
Wang Xiaohua, the owner of Dehuang, noted a significant rise in demand from European clients for art supplies. With average monthly purchases reaching close to RMB 1 million, the French market has been particularly active, aided by new marketing efforts through Yiwugo.
Major retailers in Japan, Europe, and the U.S. have commended Dehuang's sticky notes for their paper quality and adhesive durability, resulting in substantial annual orders.
Dehuang's commitment to quality control is rigorous, utilizing premium raw materials and ensuring compliance with both domestic and international standards. Wang explained that the production of correction fluid, for instance, involves eco-friendly components and exceptional sealing functionality. As a result, a single bottle typically costs about 1.5 times more than market competitors, but offers a shelf life that is five to six times longer, leading to high customer retention.
In contrast, Yuanchang Stationery has made a name for itself in the market through unique designs. Proprietor Wu Chenjie shared that Yiwugo has become an essential platform for sourcing office supplies, with cartoon-themed staplers recently becoming top sellers. These quirky designs, featuring pandas, airplanes, and propellers, experienced a rapid increase in demand from European clients after initial trial sales.
Working with several design agencies since 2023, Yuanchang has successfully combined functionality with appeal. The panda stapler series, one of the company's highlighted products, now ships over 50,000 units each month as it gains traction in international markets, especially in Southeast Asia.
With the addition of Disney licensing, Yuanchang has developed themed stationery sets tailored to various demographics, generating monthly orders of around 500,000 units. Currently, the company is focused on fulfilling large orders from a German retail chain, further expanding its customer base through Yiwugo.
Thanks to the platform's promotional efforts, many quality Chinese brands, such as Dehuang, are establishing a stronger global presence, enabling them to demonstrate their exceptional products both locally and internationally. As the back-to-school season approaches, Yiwugo's efforts highlight an exciting opportunity for stationery merchants to capitalize on the ascending trend in office and study supplies, allowing them to meet the growing demands of schoolchildren and professionals alike.
