Sky Labs Attracts Investment from OMRON Ventures

On November 4, 2025, Sky Labs revealed that it has secured investment from OMRON Ventures (OVC: Minato-ku, Tokyo), the corporate venture capital arm of the Omron Group. This collaboration aims to strengthen strategic partnerships that go beyond mere financial investment, signaling a commitment to global business expansion.

The partnership gained further momentum with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with OMRON Healthcare Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Muko, Kyoto, led by President and CEO Ayumu Okada), a global leader in blood pressure monitoring. This strategic alliance underscores a mutual trust in each organization’s potential to innovate and provide solutions for chronic disease prevention.

In 2024, Sky Labs and OMRON previously signed a memorandum that set the stage for global distribution and commercial development of CART BP, Sky Labs’ advanced blood pressure monitoring device. Earlier contracts facilitated the marketing of the world's first cuffless blood pressure monitor, demonstrating how technology can progress healthcare outcomes.

CART BP boasts innovative features that allow it to measure blood pressure continuously throughout the day and night, even during sleep. This capability presents a revolutionary method for monitoring cardiovascular health, facilitating early detection of hypertension and related conditions. It empowers users to track blood pressure trends based on time, date, and daily activities, moving away from traditional clinical settings.

OMRON Healthcare is recognized as the number one manufacturer of medical devices, providing blood pressure monitors for both home use and clinical applications in over 130 countries. By 2025, the cumulative global sales of these devices surpassed an astounding 400 million units, reflecting significant trust and reliance on their innovative solutions.

Jack Byunghwan Lee, CEO of Sky Labs, remarked, “This strategic partnership marks a pivotal achievement, as our technology has been acknowledged for both clinical effectiveness and commercial viability by global standards. We aim to lead innovation in the global healthcare market by expanding chronic disease management in collaboration with OMRON Healthcare.”

Founded in September 2015, Sky Labs has emerged as a leading health-tech startup, introducing the CART (Cardio Tracker), an innovative medical device designed for monitoring health conditions through heart signals captured by optical sensors. Over time, the company developed the CART BP, a cuffless device tailored for 24/7 blood pressure monitoring, ultimately adding value to the treatment of hypertensive patients.

Sky Labs has also secured an exclusive national distribution agreement for CART BP with South Korea's Daewoong Pharmaceutical, preparing to bring their innovative monitoring solutions to hospitals, clinics, and general consumers within the country. As the landscape of health monitoring continues to evolve, partnerships such as this one between Sky Labs and OMRON promise advancements that can significantly improve patient outcomes and the overall quality of life for those living with chronic conditions.
