Wellness Harmony at Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo
The Mitsui Garden Hotel Sapporo, located in the heart of Hokkaido, is scheduled to unveil its renovations on February 1, 2026. This reopening will feature a completely new design concept known as "Wellness Harmony," aimed at creating an inviting and tranquil environment that reflects the beauty of Sapporo and its natural surroundings.
A New Design Philosophy
Upon entering the hotel, guests will immediately notice the carefully curated design that encapsulates the theme of Wellness Harmony. This innovative concept draws inspiration from both the natural beauty of Hokkaido and the rich cultural elements of Sapporo. Art and design elements celebrating local flora and landmarks will be integrated throughout the property, ensuring a warm and immersive experience.
The focus on sustainability is apparent in the materials chosen for renovation, including lumber sourced from Mitsui Group's sustainable forests in Hokkaido. This approach not only supports environmental safety but also enhances the connection between the guests and the surrounding nature.
Enhanced Accommodation for Families and Groups
In response to the growing demand for family and group accommodations, the hotel will see a significant increase in room offerings. The number of spaces designed to host 3-4 guests will skyrocket from 20 to an impressive 140. This will be achieved by combining existing rooms and introducing new room types such as the Executive Premier Twin, which can comfortably sleep four guests. All rooms will undergo a full renovation of the bathrooms, ensuring a clean and modern stay for visitors.
Featuring seven distinct types of guest rooms, the total room count will rise to 177, catering to diverse preferences and needs. Each room is designed with calm colors and local inspiration in furniture design, including accents from traditional Hokkaido crafts.
Lobby, Lounges, and Bathing Facilities
The lobby and common areas will be completely refreshed, fostering a sense of regional identity through artwork representing local attractions like the famous Blue Pond. The new reception counter showcases wood from sustainable forests, providing guests with a welcoming atmosphere that embodies the warmth and charm of local hospitality.
The popular public bath will also undergo a comprehensive redesign, focusing on comfort and tranquility. Enhancements will include expanded women’s changing rooms that offer more spacious and comfortable spaces for guests.
Additionally, a new Utility Lounge will be introduced to meet the needs of extended-stay guests. This space will feature amenities such as laundry services, a coffee machine, and cozy seating, allowing guests to unwind outside their rooms.
