BenQ Unveils New AK900ST and AK800ST 4K Projectors

In a remarkable stride for golf simulation technology, BenQ has announced the release of its latest projectors, the AK900ST and AK800ST. These projectors are designed specifically for golfers who seek an immersive indoor experience that mirrors real-world golf courses. With advancements in projection technology, BenQ is setting a new standard for indoor golf and entertainment setups.

Revolutionizing Indoor Golf Experiences

BenQ recognizes that modern golfers have evolving expectations, moving from simple practice tools to fully immersive simulators that combine practice, competition, and even entertainment. The AK900ST and AK800ST provide an exceptional solution with their true 4K UHD resolution, detailed color processing, and user-friendly installation. Especially as golf simulation spaces often serve dual purposes—transitioning seamlessly into home theaters or gaming lounges—the need for high-quality projectors is more crucial than ever.

Bob Wudeck, senior director of business development at BenQ, emphasizes that, "Golf simulation isn't just about putting a big image on a screen – it's a highly demanding projector application." He notes that the various details within a golf course, from the fairness of the green to the texture of the rough, play a significant role in creating an authentic golfing atmosphere.

To meet this demand, the BenQ projectors deliver true-to-life visuals through a combination of high brightness, advanced color accuracy, and cutting-edge technology.

Brightness and Clarity to Enhance Realism

The AK900ST and AK800ST stand out with their impressive brightness of up to 6,000 ANSI lumens. This allows for vibrant visuals with 97% Rec. 709 color coverage to replicate the nuanced characteristics of different golf courses. The Golf Mode 2.0 feature utilizes frame-based AI video processing to optimize visuals, ensuring that everything from vibrant greens to sandy bunkers is accurately represented in stunning detail.

This high-resolution capability significantly enhances the visual experience, allowing for sharp and clear imagery even on large impact screens. Users will benefit from the enhanced clarity that comes with 4K resolution, which contains four times the pixel count of traditional 1080p projectors. This means that details remain sharp regardless of screen size, creating a truly lifelike golfing experience.

Simplifying Setup with Smart Technology

As projectors become central to golf simulator installations, the AK900ST and AK800ST also focus on simplifying setup processes. Both models come equipped with innovative features designed to ease the installation of complex setups:

• - Auto Screen Fit 2.0: This technology uses built-in cameras and sensors to detect the screen size and shape, automatically adjusting the image accordingly for both flat and curved surfaces.
• - Auto Focus: With a simple tap, users can quickly sharpen the projected image, eliminating the hassle of manual adjustments.
• - Ambient Visual Enhancer: The projectors can detect room lighting changes and adjust the image for optimal clarity.
• - Screen Fill Aspect Ratios: New aspect ratios allow users to select the optimal format for their simulator screens quickly.

These automated features streamline the setup process, allowing users to focus on enjoying their golf simulation rather than getting bogged down in complicated adjustments.

Versatility Beyond Golf Simulation

While primarily designed for golf simulation, the AK900ST and AK800ST projectors aren’t limited to golfing experiences. They've been crafted to deliver stunning visuals across various media forms:

• - Scene Memory: Users can save custom settings for different activities, such as gaming or movie viewing.
• - HDR10 and Cinematic Mode: These features provide heightened depth and quality that rival home theaters, making streaming films or playing video games just as enjoyable as hitting the greens.
• - Automatic Low Latency Mode: Ideal for gamers, this feature ensures quick refresh rates and minimal lag, providing an edge in any gaming environment.

The AK900ST and AK800ST will be available for purchase later this month at a price point of $5,999 and $3,999, respectively, through BenQ’s official website and authorized resellers. For golf enthusiasts or anyone seeking to enhance their home entertainment experience, these projectors promise to elevate the standard for realism, flexibility, and ease of use.

Conclusion

With the introduction of the AK900ST and AK800ST, BenQ continues to lead the charge in merging innovative technology with user-friendly features. This ensures that indoor golf enthusiasts can not only enjoy their favorite sport year-round but also relish in a dynamic viewing experience, from film nights to competitive gaming sessions. By prioritizing realism, ease of setup, and multi-use capability, BenQ reaffirms its commitment to enhancing life through powerful display technologies.
