UBTECH Unveils UWORLD U1, the World's First Mass-Produced Humanoid Robot

UBTECH Launches the Revolutionary UWORLD U1 Robot

On June 30, 2026, UBTECH showcased its ambitious vision for future human-robot collaboration during a global launch event in Shenzhen, China. The highlight of the event was the unveiling of the UWORLD U1 series, which includes various models of humanoid robots now mass-produced for consumer use. The UWORLD U1 series boasts the title of being the world's first fully functional, ultra-bionic humanoid robots produced at scale.

The lineup consists of three distinctive models: the U1 Lite Semi-Torso Edition, the robust U1 Pro full-body version, and the high-dynamics U1 Ultra. These entities are priced starting at 119,800 RMB. By the official launch day, UBTECH had recorded over 13,361 orders for the UWORLD U1 series—indicative of high consumer interest and demand.

At the launch, James Zhou, the founder and CEO of UBTECH, emphasized the company's long-term goal of evolving human-robot interactions, advocating for a three-step approach. The first phase focuses on deploying robots in environments where they can handle hazardous and repetitive tasks, alleviating human workers from dangerous assignments. The next step intends to integrate robots into daily life, supporting various companionship and service roles. Finally, Zhou foresees a future where robots seamlessly integrate with human activities, promoting a harmonious partnership.

UBTECH is transitioning from a traditional robotics manufacturer to a platform-driven company specializing in AI-powered robotics and intelligent infrastructure. The company's growth plans span two decades, with the first decade (2012-2022) dedicated to developing core technologies to transit humanoid robots from research labs to real-world applications. This set the foundation for UBTECH's future endeavors. From 2023 to 2033, the company aims to further broaden consumer robotics, bringing humanoid robots into everyday scenarios, marking a substantial shift away from industrial and commercial applications.

UBTECH's advancements have seen it emerge as a leader, topping global sales for full-size intelligent humanoid robots in2025. The launch of UWORLD represents an exciting new chapter, expanding the company’s reach into consumer robotics.

Michael Tam, the head of branding at UBTECH, explained that the emergence of robots in companionship roles offers a fresh perspective on enhancing mental wellness. This new category of companion robots has the potential to evolve significantly, providing tailored emotional support through various life stages. Experts project that the ultrabionic humanoid robotics market in China could expand from several tens of billions of RMB in 2026 to an astonishing trillion RMB by 2036.

The UWORLD series incorporates an advanced end-to-end technology stack, featuring biomimetic skin, embodied intelligence hardware, operating systems, and emotion-driven Large Language Models (LLMs). This holistic design addresses longstanding challenges associated with deploying humanoid robots effectively. Each model of the U1 series leverages 88 degrees of freedom and a custom-made, biomimetic neck structure with dual pivot points to replicate up to 90% of human movements accurately.

At the heart of the UWORLD U1 is the world's first emotion-sensitive LLM, built to facilitate long-term companionship by accurately recognizing over 20 distinct emotional states with more than 90% precision. This is combined with a cognitive neuroscience-inspired
