Poland's Higher Education Institutions Rise in QS World University Rankings 2027

Poland's Higher Education Achievements in QS World University Rankings 2027

The QS World University Rankings for 2027 have been released, shedding light on the developments within Poland's higher education landscape. Despite minor fluctuations, Polish universities have recorded notable advancements over the past decade. In 2017, only six universities from Poland were included in the rankings. Fast forward to this year, and that number has increased to an impressive 20 institutions.

The University of Warsaw continues to shine, maintaining its position among the top 300 universities globally for the fifth consecutive year, currently ranking at 289th. Meanwhile, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) has secured the top spot worldwide for the fifteenth consecutive time.

In this year's ranking, two Polish universities improved their standings, while nine maintained their status, and nine witnessed a decline—a trend that reflects a larger global movement where universities worldwide are advancing more rapidly than their Polish counterparts. Despite these challenges, Poland boasts remarkable individual achievements amongst its institutions.

Interestingly, with 20 universities ranked, Poland shares the 19th position with Indonesia in terms of representation in the QS rankings, trailing behind Saudi Arabia and Brazil, each of which has 22 universities on the list.
