EngineAI Launches Smart Manufacturing Plant in Shenzhen to Mass Produce Humanoid Robots

EngineAI Unveils Its Smart Manufacturing Plant in Shenzhen

In a significant advance for robotics, EngineAI Robotics has officially inaugurated its state-of-the-art smart manufacturing plant located in Shenzhen, China. This facility not only heralds a new era for the company but also marks the launch of the first batch of its flagship humanoid robot, the T800, which is geared for mass production. This ambitious move represents a pivotal shift in EngineAI's operations, enabling the production of up to 10,000 units of T800 robots.

The sprawling plant spans about 12,000 square meters and incorporates a fully integrated closed-loop manufacturing process. This process begins with the inspection of incoming materials and extends to component assembly, final assembly, end-of-line testing, bulk shipping, and after-sales service. Thanks to this efficient layout, EngineAI can produce a new humanoid robot every 15 minutes, underscoring the facility's impressive manufacturing capability.

Zhao Tongyang, the founder and CEO of EngineAI, emphasized the journey the company has embarked on since their first test machine in 2024. Transitioning from manufacturing just a few units in 2025 to this expansive capacity for mass delivery demonstrates their commitment to scaling production effectively. "We are entering a new phase of industrialization and commercialization," Zhao commented. "By building a manufacturing system centered on quality, efficiency, and intelligent production, we've fast-tracked our evolution from pilot production to mass-scale production."

To ensure the highest quality standards, EngineAI has established a robust framework centered around four strategic pillars. These pillars include strict supply chain quality control, advanced production processes, a shift to smart manufacturing, and rigorous testing and validation processes. Every component, from integrated joints to complete assemblies, must meet stringent standards to enter the production flow.

With automated systems for locking, gluing, and laser welding, EngineAI has improved production efficiency by 40% while maintaining process standardization. Their comprehensive digital management system allows for complete traceability, assigning a unique production identity to every component and finished robot throughout the supply chain. Before they leave the factory, all robots must pass a stringent quality control regimen, including 79 dimensional inspections and 46 simulations of operational conditions. This ensures that each unit operates at optimal performance and stability.

EngineAI is also focused on a multiregional capacity plan to facilitate global expansion. As their smart manufacturing network grows across Shenzhen, Henan, and beyond, these facilities will collaborate to optimize capacity allocation and respond more swiftly to market demands. This strategy will lay a robust foundation for future global growth, as noted by Ren Guowen, the co-founder of EngineAI.

Founded in October 2023, EngineAI has rapidly emerged as a key player in integrated general-purpose intelligence. Its team comprises industry veterans from top global universities, combining academic excellence with extensive engineering experience. The company has developed comprehensive in-house solutions for essential robotic components, motion control algorithms, and integrated AI technologies. EngineAI's product lineup includes sophisticated robots like the SA01, designed for advanced robotic access; SE01, showcasing human-like walking capabilities; PM01, known for achieving the first forward turn by a humanoid robot; and the T800, built for dynamic and demanding operational environments.

As humanoid robotics transitions from theoretical research to real-world applications, EngineAI collaborates with partners across commercial services, education, scientific research, and industrial manufacturing sectors. Their efforts aim to accelerate the large-scale adoption of humanoid robots, continually pushing the boundaries of embedded intelligence through ongoing innovation and the development of practical robotic solutions that will help revolutionize the future of work and industry.
