Picture Book Navigation Launches Crowdfunding Project
On October 25, the Tokyo-based Picture Book Navigation Inc. announced a groundbreaking crowdfunding project aimed at supporting children in need. This initiative focuses on delivering high-quality picture books, along with a dedicated bookshelf, to various children's facilities, renewing their commitment to enriching young minds through literature.
The Children’s Bookshelf Project
The project, titled
Children’s Bookshelf Project, aims to create meaningful interactions between adults and children through the shared experience of reading picture books. By providing children with opportunities to discover new worlds and ideas, this initiative aligns with the company's mission to increase
“happy moments” in life. The organization aspires to connect facilities in need of picture books with individuals and companies eager to provide support and encouragement.
Over recent years, Picture Book Navigation has successfully donated over 70 sets of books and shelves through partnerships with various organizations and individuals. Following the launch of their recent call for applications, more than 150 facilities have expressed interest in receiving donations, including daycare centers for children with disabilities, community meal services, and free schools.
Entering a New Era of Support
To facilitate more contributions and directly engage individuals in the donation process, the organization has introduced crowdfunding for the first time. Set with a goal of raising 100,000 yen, this campaign will enable donors to participate in creating positive change. The funds raised will ensure the donation of picture books and a bookshelf to a selected facility, and hence, each contribution can significantly impact children's lives.
For this inaugural crowdfunding effort, the selected recipient will be a children's facility based in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture. **After School Day Service
