Jaguar Uranium Unveils Encouraging Results from Huemul Project Assays

Jaguar Uranium Corp., a significant player in South America's uranium exploration sector, has recently announced preliminary assay results from its Huemul uranium-copper-vanadium (U-Cu-V) project located in the Malargüe region of Mendoza Province, Argentina. The initial surface sampling results are promising, revealing areas containing visible mineralization of uranium, copper, and vanadium. The data collected during this field campaign represents a significant step in understanding the mineral wealth within this vast project area, which encompasses more than 27,000 hectares.

Key Findings from Preliminary Sampling

During a two-week field campaign, the geological team collected rock chip and channel samples from several locations noted for visible mineralization. Among these samples, several returned impressive preliminary assay results exceeding the upper limits for uranium and copper measurements, recording values beyond 25,000 parts per million (ppm). Noteworthy findings also included silver and vanadium levels reaching peaks of 708 grams per tonne (g/t) for silver and 1.27% for vanadium. However, it's important to remember that these results are still preliminary, with final over-limit reanalysis pending for certain samples.

Historically, the Huemul project has been recognized for its mineral potential, with average historical grades reported at approximately 0.21% uranium, 2.0% copper, and 0.11% vanadium. The current sampling efforts have identified a potential four-kilometer copper trend that correlates with previous findings and has opened up discussions regarding newly identified mineralized zones in previously unexplored areas of the project.

The Sampling Program

Jaguar submitted a total of 200 samples, comprised of 188 channel and rock chip samples, which included six blanks and six duplicates for quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) purposes. These samples were strategically collected from eight distinct target sites within the project, including areas like Huemul Min, Uryco, and Rosa, where historical records indicated previous mining activity. Notable results from this program have been categorized based on uranium grades, with significant numbers reported for samples exceeding 100 ppm uranium.

The collection process involved targeted sampling of known mineralized locations, with channel samples ranging from 50 cm to 280 cm in length. The samples were then securely packaged on site and transported to ALS, a certified laboratory in Mendoza, Argentina, for thorough geochemical analysis utilizing the ME-MS89L™ sodium peroxide decomposition method.

Insights from Management

The management team highlighted the consistency of visible mineralization findings with historical records, reaffirming their interest in the potential for large-scale uranium and copper development in the area. Steven Gold, President and CEO of Jaguar Uranium, expressed optimism about further assay results that could validate the current findings and guide future exploration initiatives, including planned drilling programs.

Exploration Prospects and Historical Context

The Huemul Project is situated in a historically rich mining district, recognized as the site of Argentina's first-ever uranium production. This mine operated from 1955 until 1975, producing approximately 130,000 tonnes of mineralized materials. Current exploration efforts are underpinned by historical data, which while not verified by the company for its accuracy, serves as an indicator of potential resource presence.

The broader Malargüe district remains largely unexplored using modern methodologies, prompting management to advocate for systematic exploration across the entire land package to better define resource viability. As the project progresses through these early stages, Jaguar Uranium is determined to establish the economic significance of its findings and further elucidate the mineralization potential in this promising area.

Conclusion

Jaguar Uranium’s forward-looking approach and commitment to exploring the Huemul project reflect the potential for significant discoveries in the uranium, copper, and vanadium sectors within Argentina. As results develop, stakeholders and industry watchers alike are keenly anticipating further updates from the company, particularly regarding assay results and their future plans for drilling and exploration in this historically significant region.
