Sherpa Unveils SmartESG Cloud for Enhanced Sustainability Disclosure Support

Introduction

In a significant move towards sustainability, Sherpa & Company, based in Shinagawa, Tokyo, has officially launched the SmartESG cloud service for Nippon FICO, headquartered in Yokosuka, Kanagawa. This initiative aims to bolster Nippon FICO's capacity for sustainability information disclosure, set to take effect on August 1, 2026.

Sherpa's Vision and Objectives

Sherpa operates under a guiding principle: "Connecting small insights and technology to create a comfortable life and a sustainable society." The company faces societal and customer challenges by providing a broad spectrum of products and technologies, including industrial plastic fasteners, across various sectors. These sectors include automotive, housing, home appliances, sports, and education. Sherpa is committed to reducing environmental impact through product lightweighting and the utilization of recycled plastics, aiming to promote sustainable management and enhance long-term corporate value.

SmartESG Cloud Services

To strengthen Nippon FICO's sustainability information aggregation and analysis framework, Sherpa has introduced a specific analytical function within SmartESG called "Focus." By leveraging Focus, Nippon FICO can not only analyze characteristics pertinent to various ESG evaluation institutions but can also engage in self-analysis that anticipates future Sustainability Standards Board of Japan (SSBJ) standards. This capability allows for the extraction of crucial issues and visualization of progress, promoting advanced systems for both mandatory and voluntary disclosures.

Sherpa is committed to supporting companies in enhancing their sustainability management through the provision of SmartESG.

Features of SmartESG

SmartESG is designed as a comprehensive platform that supports everything from calculating GHG emissions to collecting, aggregating, and analyzing non-financial information. It also assists with regulatory disclosures and responses from evaluation institutions, such as those from SSBJ and CSRD. Utilizing artificial intelligence, the platform aids in automating and enhancing operational processes. Since its launch in November 2022, more than 100 companies, predominantly from the Tokyo Stock Exchange's prime market and large enterprises, have adopted SmartESG. As of April 2026, the cumulative market capitalization of these implementing companies has surpassed 300 trillion yen.
