Nadamans Dessert Sushi 'Pudding Roll' Arrives in Japan
Nadamans innovative dessert sushi called the 'Pudding Roll' is set to debut in Japan for the very first time, taking place from June 8 to June 14, 2026. This exclusive product will be available in two select locations in Nagoya: Nadaman and Nagoya Station Nadaman Charyo. The exciting launch follows a special feature on the popular TV Tokyo program 'Packing Japan into a Suitcase,' where the dessert sushi concept was first introduced.
The Inspiration Behind the 'Pudding Roll'
The journey of the 'Pudding Roll' began on April 27, 2026, when Nadaman’s Executive Chef, Fumito Suzuki, was inspired during a dessert sushi competition in Bucharest, Romania. The aim was to create a unique dish that could rival a popular chocolate and banana dessert sushi served overseas. By utilizing traditional cooking techniques mastered over years of Japanese culinary expertise, Chef Suzuki brought the 'Pudding Roll' to life.
The roll features a specially crafted pudding that showcases the delicate balance of temperature control synonymous with Nadaman’s signature chawanmushi, resulting in a silky and creamy texture. To enhance the flavor profile, a rich custard topping is added along with crunchy chocolate flakes. The dish is finished with a drizzle of sweet-savory mitarashi sauce, elevating the roll to a refined culinary experience inspired by traditional Japanese flavors.
A Culinary Delight to Experience
The 'Pudding Roll' from Nadaman will be offered at a price of 620 yen, inclusive of taxes and service fees. This unique dessert sushi not only highlights the culinary prowess of Chef Suzuki but also reflects Nadaman's commitment to blending tradition with innovation.
Additionally, to celebrate the grand opening of 'Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera Nagoya,' which will open its doors on June 11, 2026, this special dessert sushi will also be available there from June 11 to June 14, 2026. Located in the landmark commercial facility HAERA on the B2 floor, sushi enthusiasts and food adventurers alike will have the chance to experience this delightful creation.
The collaboration between Nadaman and Onodera Group has flourished since Nadaman joined the Onodera family in 2024, leading to an array of co-branded initiatives and the development of exceptional food offerings.
