Loudoun County Launches Major Affordable Housing Initiative with Atlantic Boulevard Apartments

Loudoun County's Vision for Affordable Housing



Loudoun County is making significant strides in addressing the affordable housing crisis with the recent groundbreaking of the Atlantic Boulevard Apartments in Sterling, Virginia. This new community, consisting of 80 affordable units, showcases a collaborative effort between local developers and officials aimed at providing accessible living options for its residents.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 17, 2025, and is celebrated as one of the fastest developments in Northern Virginia's recent history. The project, spearheaded by Good Housing and Green Street Housing, reflects a model of public-private partnerships that can expedite housing solutions effectively.

A Collaborative Effort



Key figures involved in this project include Kim Hart, Managing Member of Good Housing; Chase Powell, Partner and Director of Development at Green Street Housing; and local government officials such as Supervisors Koran Saines and Michael Turner. Hart remarked that the process from zoning application to construction initiation took a mere 18 months, emphasizing the importance of teamwork throughout various stages of the project.
