NANTONG, China – September 1, 2025 — RAINBOWCO (SZ002483), a dominant player in high-end equipment manufacturing, has announced a significant transition in its branding strategy aimed at fortifying its global presence and competitiveness. Starting from September 1, 2025, port container equipment produced at RAINBOWCO's facility in Taicang, China, will be rebranded from the joint label GENMA-KALMAR to the unified brand "GENMA".
This strategic maneuver is designed to elevate the global brand influence of GENMA and signals a pivotal development in RAINBOWCO's ongoing global expansion in the high-end manufacturing sector.
New Brand Focus
As part of this brand strategy evolution, RAINBOWCO's product lineup will concentrate on two primary brands: "GENMA" and "KOCH". Founded in 2003, RAINBOWCO operates five manufacturing bases worldwide and employs over 3,600 workers, boasting a revenue exceeding $1 billion in 2024.
The port container equipment is manufactured by Jiangsu Rainbow Industrial Equipment Co., Ltd. (RIC), a wholly owned subsidiary located in Taicang, China.
Milestones in Strategic Development
RAINBOWCO's journey in partnership with the global equipment giant Cargotec commenced in 2004, and it has seen consistent progress in the port equipment realm. Here are some key milestones in their development:

2012 – A joint venture was established with Cargotec in Taicang, combining efforts in the design, manufacturing, and global servicing of Kalmar heavy port cranes under a dual-brand strategy utilizing both KALMAR and GENMA.

2020 – The joint venture underwent a strategic restructuring, leading to the renaming of the venture to RIC, optimizing its operations and enhancing localization.

2022 – RIC acquired global intellectual property rights for Kalmar heavy port cranes and introduced the GENMA-KALMAR co-brand to leverage technological strengths and expand into international high-end markets.

2025 – The brand strategy was revised to position GENMA as the core label for container port machinery, marking a fresh chapter in global high-end equipment manufacturing.
