Summer Appreciation Festival at Tareton: A Delightful Celebration for Tare Katsu Fans

Tareton's Summer Appreciation Festival

The popular tare katsu-don specialty shop, Tareton, is hosting its first-ever Summer Appreciation Festival from August 5 to August 7, 2026, at its stores in Shimbashi and Nakano. This event is dedicated to expressing gratitude for the support the restaurant has received.

For three exciting days, Tareton will be offering a refined version of its famous tare katsu don, which features thinly fried pork cutlets known for their delightful crunch. The restaurant has painstakingly updated its cooking techniques to elevate the dining experience. Improvements include a careful selection of breadcrumb styles, adjustments to the batter's composition, and precise timing for frying—ensuring that the crispiness that diners love is perfectly complemented by the juiciness of the meat and a special soy sauce that enhances the dish's umami flavor.

Discounted Menu During the Festival

During the event, only two main menu items will be available at a special discounted price:

A Novel Take on Tare Katsu

In Japan, katsu don typically features fried pork cutlets topped with egg on rice, but Tareton breaks this mold with tare katsu don, which instead layers crispy fried cutlets in a sweet and savory soy sauce on rice. Tareton's menu is dedicated exclusively to tare katsu, leveraging the frying techniques honed from its parent company, Arc Land Service Holdings, which also operates well-known katsu shop Katsuya.

Culinary Values

Tareton strives to create a dish that people will crave without any sense of weariness. Each tare katsu is crafted to ensure the sauce penetrates while maintaining the unique crunch of the coating. Customers can choose between varying volumes of 3, 4, or even 5 pieces to meet their appetites, satisfying different levels of hunger—showcasing the restaurant's commitment to both speed and generosity.

Closing Thoughts

Tareton aims to be a place where busy individuals can quickly enjoy a fulfilling meal that energizes them for the rest of the day. With its high-quality ingredients and attentive cooking methods, Tareton promises a delightful experience that will invigorate any diner with its unique
