AUTOCRYPT and Hitachi Solutions Unveil Security Fuzzer in Japan

In a significant development for the automotive industry, AUTOCRYPT, a renowned provider of vehicle testing solutions, has partnered with Hitachi Solutions, Ltd. to deliver the AutoCrypt Security Fuzzer to the Japanese market. Effective January 22, 2025, this move represents the first opportunity for domestic automotive manufacturers to access this globally acclaimed cybersecurity tool.

This initiative builds on the ongoing collaboration between the two companies, where AUTOCRYPT already offers a V2X security solution that can integrate with Hitachi’s Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) Middleware Platform. This strategic alliance underlines Hitachi Solutions' dedication to providing advanced cybersecurity solutions while leveraging AUTOCRYPT's expertise in innovative testing technologies tailored for the automotive sector.

The AutoCrypt Security Fuzzer is specifically designed for in-vehicle software development and testing, automated to generate an impressive one million test cases in accordance with ISO 14229-1:2020, which includes support for all 26 Service Identifiers (SIDs) defined in the Unified Diagnostic Service (UDS) protocol. This technology not only enhances the testing process for individual Electronic Control Units (ECUs) but also for integrated systems, offering continuous automated execution that streamlines the testing workflow.

Developers can benefit from detailed testing results presented in comprehensive summaries and visual aids, allowing for swift reviews and follow-up on identified vulnerabilities. Duksoo Kim, CEO and co-founder of AUTOCRYPT, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We are delighted to work together with Hitachi Solutions to bring our fuzzing solution to the Japanese market. As the industry transitions towards Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs), manufacturers face increasing pressure to conform to standards and regulations. Our tool is designed to support this compliance journey with minimal disruption.”

Notably, the introduction of the AutoCrypt Security Fuzzer aims to tackle pressing challenges within the automotive cybersecurity sphere, enhancing the reliability and safety of automotive software, and aiding companies in meeting international compliance standards, including ISO/SAE 21434.

Through this distributorship agreement, Japanese automotive manufacturers and suppliers will have access to a comprehensive and effective approach for cybersecurity testing. The collaborative effort is poised to streamline compliance processes with international standards and foster a secure atmosphere for the automotive sector, contributing significantly to the shift towards smarter mobility.
