Risen Energy and Ascania Energy Join Forces for Major Solar and Energy Storage Initiatives in Ukraine
Risen Energy and Ascania Energy Collaborate on Solar and Energy Storage in Ukraine
In a significant move towards enhancing energy sustainability and reliability in Ukraine, Risen Energy has partnered with Ascania Energy to launch ambitious solar and energy storage projects. Through two strategic memoranda of understanding (MoUs), these companies aim to develop projects that include up to 100 megawatts (MW) of solar capacity combined with 200 megawatt-hours (MWh) of battery energy storage.
The agreement comes as Ukraine grapples with increasing demands for energy generation capacity and a need for decentralized energy solutions that can ensure power reliability, especially during periods of grid limitations. The implementation of solar-plus-storage systems offers a flexible approach, enabling better integration of renewable sources and allowing businesses to adapt their energy usage based on availability.
Ascania Energy holds a comprehensive position in the Ukrainian energy sector, engaging in project development, engineering, energy management, and energy supply. Being part of the Ascania Group, which boasts a history of over 30 years in the industry, Ascania brings extensive local execution strengths and established relationships with energy consumers. Risen Energy complements this with its advanced technology in photovoltaics (PV), energy storage systems, inverters, and intelligent energy management solutions. With more than 121.4 gigawatts (GW) of cumulative PV module shipments and over 10 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of delivered battery systems as of Q2 2026, Risen Energy has made a mark across 90 countries around the world.
Risen has previously supplied modules to 12 solar projects in Ukraine, including a notable installation at the 323 MW Pokrovskaya Solar Power Plant. Their involvement has equipped them with vital insights into product adaptation and service delivery in the local market. This experience serves as a solid foundation for the upcoming utility-scale projects that incorporate solar and energy storage solutions.
On August 13, 2026, a delegation from Ascania Energy visited Risen Energy’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to observe production processes for PV and energy storage products. The discussions during this visit emphasized their innovative Hyper-ion Pro heterojunction modules, known for their superior power generation efficiency and durability. Additionally, they explored the eTron liquid-cooled energy storage systems equipped with features that support safe and efficient utility-scale applications.
Both companies highlighted the importance of continued collaboration in various areas, including project development, engineering training, after-sales support, and enhancing technical skill sets. By combining Risen Energy's cutting-edge technology and delivery capabilities with the local expertise offered by Ascania Energy, they are poised to make meaningful contributions to the deployment of solar and energy storage solutions in Ukraine.
This partnership not only signals a proactive response to the energy needs in the region but also emphasizes the growing shift toward renewable energy sources in Eastern Europe. With such strategic partnerships, the future of energy in Ukraine looks promising, paving the way for sustainable growth and energy independence.
