New Luxurious Snack Inspired by Chef Hiroaki Tsujiguchi Unveiled by Orion Beer

Orion Beer Co., based in Tomigusuku City, Okinawa, is set to launch an exquisite new snack on August 1, 2025. This innovative product, named "Orion The Brisee: Island Spice Flavor and Okinawa Brown Sugar Flavor," has been meticulously developed under the supervision of world-renowned pastry chef Hiroaki Tsujiguchi.

This new offering aims to enhance the enjoyment of Orion Beer by incorporating the French pastry technique known as "brisée." The brisée is a type of tart crust famous for its flaky texture and rich buttery aroma, making it perfect for pairing with beer and elevating drinking occasions.

The snacks will be available in two tantalizing flavors: the "Island Spice Flavor," which showcases a spicy profile with a hint of local peppers, and the "Okinawa Brown Sugar Flavor," offering a gentle sweetness balanced by salt. Both flavors are designed to complement beer, as well as wine and non-alcoholic beverages, making them a versatile snack choice.

The development process involved utilizing the unique attributes of Okinawan ingredients and the distinct qualities of Orion Beer yeast. Chef Tsujiguchi closely guided the project from the concept phase to the final product, undergoing numerous trials and refinements. Reflecting on his experience, he shares,

"Using Okinawa's ingredients and Orion Beer yeast, we aimed to create a confection that truly pairs with beer. It was a challenge to push the boundaries of the brisée style. While I had a clear vision of the ideal flavor in my mind, actualizing it was not easy. We faced challenges with the thickness of the brisée and its texture. However, after many trials and adjustments, we created a product that I am proud of."

This new snack is a collaborative development between Super Sweets Co., Orion Beer Co., and Nankido Co. Nankido, based in Itoman City, Okinawa, will handle the manufacturing and distribution of these gourmet snacks.
