Michelle Licht Appointed VP at Sinistar to Drive Market Expansion Strategies in Temporary Housing

Michelle Licht Joins Sinistar as VP of Business Development

Sinistar, an innovator in AI-driven temporary housing solutions targeted for the insurance sector, has appointed Michelle Licht as their new Vice President of Business Development for the USA, effective January 19, 2026. This appointment marks a significant step for the company as it looks to expand its market presence and better serve the evolving needs of the insurance industry.

Michelle Licht brings over two decades of valuable experience in temporary housing and catastrophe response, showcasing a strong track record of working closely with insurance carriers and claims executives across the United States. Her expertise has been built on a foundation of trusted relationships developed over years of navigating both routine claims processes and large-scale disaster responses.

Prior to joining Sinistar, Licht held the position of Vice President of Sales with the nation's largest provider of temporary housing services. In that role, she spearheaded national sales strategies while assisting insurers during complex displacement scenarios. Having joined her previous organization in 2006 as National Catastrophe and Sales Director, she played pivotal roles during major catastrophic events, including Hurricane Sandy, the Moore tornadoes, Hurricane Harvey, and the Paradise fires.

Licht's movement to Sinistar is indicative of a larger trend occurring within the insurance industry. There's a growing demand among carriers for solutions that offer increased transparency, flexibility, and integration of technology. She recognizes that traditional temporary housing models are becoming less suitable for modern claims operations. Sinistar's platform is uniquely designed to address these shifting requirements by fusing technology and data intelligence with a comprehensive network of modern housing solutions. This approach aims to improve outcomes for insurers, adjusters, and families experiencing displacement.

In her new role, Licht will be focused on expanding partnerships with US carriers, driving new business development strategies, and assisting insurers as they transition to a more technology-oriented methodology for temporary housing solutions. As noted by Alexis Vertefeuille, Founder and CEO of Sinistar, "Insurers are clearly asking for something different from what has existed in the market for decades. Michelle understands those challenges firsthand and believes that technology and innovation are crucial to transforming how temporary housing services operate."

Licht herself expressed enthusiasm for her new position, stating, "Sinistar epitomizes where I believe the future of the insurance housing market is heading. The team's commitment to innovation and the integration of technology aligns perfectly with insurers' needs. I'm thrilled to contribute to driving this change."
