Synology Unveils the RS1626xs+: Next-Level Reliability and Performance in a Compact Design

Synology's New RackStation RS1626xs+

On March 26, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan, Synology made a significant announcement unveiling its latest offering: the RackStation RS1626xs+. This compact, 1U rackmount system is engineered to deliver enterprise-grade performance and reliability, making it an ideal solution for edge deployments, branch offices, departmental environments, and even small to medium-sized enterprises.

Ideal for Demanding Workloads

The RS1626xs+ is designed to handle demanding workloads with its powerful specifications. It is equipped with a six-core Intel® Xeon® D-1726 CPU, achieving impressive random read/write IOPS of over 352,000 and 85,000 for 4K workloads. The system ensures high-speed connectivity with dual 10GbE ports and PCIe 4.0 slots for 10/25GbE or Fibre Channel upgrades. Additionally, it features two M.2 2280 slots that allow for SSD caching, significantly reducing access latency and enhancing workflow efficiency for teams.

Scalability and Reliability

In addition to performance, the RS1626xs+ offers exceptional scalability and reliability. Users can increase storage capacity from the initial four bays to a maximum of 16 bays by adding the RX1225RP expansion unit. The system is engineered to provide maximum uptime, featuring dedicated out-of-band management, redundant power supplies with hot-swappable capabilities, and redundant fans, ensuring that businesses can maintain their online presence even during maintenance or hardware events.

Comprehensive Business Features

Equipped with Synology's renowned DiskStation Manager (DSM), the RS1626xs+ provides a wide range of features tailored to meet diverse business data management needs. For example, Synology Drive transforms the system into a private cloud, enabling cross-platform access for distributed teams and synchronization between locations.

Moreover, the Synology Virtual Machine Manager and Container Manager offer robust solutions for VM storage, backup, and hosting, fully compatible with VMware®, Hyper-V®, Citrix®, and OpenStack. This capability also includes lightweight VMs and containers for testing, sandboxing, and emergency recovery purposes.

Another noteworthy feature is Synology Tiering, which automatically moves infrequently accessed data between performance and capacity tiers to enhance storage efficiency, helping organizations optimize their storage costs.

Availability

The RS1626xs+ is set to hit the market on March 26, 2026, through Synology's authorized distributors and partners. For more information, please visit the RS1626xs+ product page.
