Fruit Attraction 2026 in Madrid Gears Up with Over 90% Exhibition Space Booked

The upcoming 18th edition of Fruit Attraction promises to make Madrid the epicenter of the fruit and vegetable industry once again. Scheduled from October 6 to 8, 2026, the prestigious international trade fair is organized by IFEMA MADRID and the Spanish Federation of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers, and Live Plants (FEPEX). As anticipation builds, it has been reported that over 90% of the exhibition space has already been reserved, making the fair a highly sought-after event for industry professionals.

With a staggering 72,000 square meters of space booked, the exhibition is just 2,000 square meters shy of total capacity. This year's event is expected to welcome more than 2,500 exhibitors, presenting an extensive range of fresh produce that spans 80,000 square meters. Furthermore, organizers forecast that the event will attract over 121,000 visitors from around 150 different countries, highlighting the global significance of this gathering.

To facilitate visits for industry experts, this year's layout will feature ten halls totalling over 162,000 square meters, maintaining the same organization and sectorization as in previous years. Odd-numbered halls—3, 5, 7, and 9—will showcase national offerings and the innovative InnovaTech segment. The even-numbered halls—4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14—will highlight international offerings from regions including Europe, America, Africa, and Asia. Hall 4 will also accommodate the Fresh Food Logistics area, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the industry’s needs.

This year’s featured product at the fair will be the potato, emphasizing its crucial role in nutrition and food security. To further enrich the experience, an 'Organic Tour' will be reintroduced, providing a focused route for attendees to discover companies showcasing organically certified products. Additionally, the fair will serve as a platform for international outreach through the 'International Buyers Programme,' inviting around 700 significant buyers, including retail managers, importers, and wholesalers from more than 50 countries.

Highlighting the importance of global trade links, this year's guest importing countries, which include China and the United Arab Emirates, will also be a focal point of discussion and networking. Adding a competitive edge, the Best Stand Awards will recognize those exhibitors who excel in creativity, design, and sustainability across several categories, including the Most Original Stand and Visitors' Favorite Stand. For the third consecutive year, the Innovation Hubs Awards will acknowledge outstanding projects, products, or services within the industry, with all submissions showcased prominently during the event.

Fruit Attraction is poised to be more than just a trade fair; it’s a comprehensive knowledge hub. Numerous forums and technical seminars will cover a wide array of pertinent topics, forming a robust program featuring distinguished speakers and participants. Signature events include the Avocado Congress and the Biofruit Congress, providing additional layers of insight and expertise for all attendees.

With doors set to open on October 6 and remaining open until October 8, from 9:30 am to 7 pm each day, and until 5 pm on the final day, Fruit Attraction 2026 is destined to be a milestone event in the fruit and vegetable sector. It will not only foster business opportunities but also promote sustainable practices and innovation in the industry, confirming its role as a key meeting point on the international stage.
