Armor Health Nurses Honored for Lifesaving Actions at Franklin County Sheriff's Awards Banquet 2025
Armor Health Nurses Recognized for Their Heroic Efforts
In a remarkable display of courage and professionalism, nurses from Armor Health were honored with lifesaving awards at the Franklin County Ohio Sheriff's 2025 December Awards Banquet. This event celebrated the invaluable contributions of healthcare providers who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to patient care in emergency situations.
Among the distinguished awardees were Jon Frost, an experienced Registered Nurse, alongside Nurse Practitioner Barb McCubbin, and other dedicated staff members including Linda Reece, Megan Cook, Rebekka McNichols, and Heather Arnold. Each of these professionals played a crucial role in saving lives under challenging circumstances, exemplifying Armor Health's commitment to excellence in correctional healthcare.
Outstanding Acts of Valor
The recognition began with Jon Frost receiving accolades for his swift intervention during a critical overdose case. Frost’s quick assessment and immediate response involved administering CPR to a patient who was discovered unresponsive and lacking vital signs. He utilized several nasal Narcan treatments while performing chest compressions. For an intense 22 minutes, he maintained his lifesaving efforts until Emergency Medical Services (EMS) arrived on the scene, ensuring the patient was in a stable condition upon their arrival. Thanks to Frost's decisive actions, the patient survived what could have been a fatal situation.
In another instance of collaborative heroism, Nurse Practitioner Barb McCubbin worked alongside her nursing colleagues to provide emergency care to a deputy experiencing a heart attack known as a 'Widow Maker.' This type of heart attack is particularly severe and often lethal. The team delivered essential treatments which included administering an EKG and medications to stabilize the deputy’s condition until EMS arrived for transport to a hospital where he received further treatment.
LPN Heather Arnold also received well-deserved recognition for her critical response to a heart-related emergency. She successfully administered CPR and deployed an automated external defibrillator (AED) to a patient whose condition had rapidly deteriorated. Her skilled intervention played a vital role in stabilizing the patient, who was subsequently taken to the emergency room for additional care.
A Message from Leadership
Otto Campo, the Chief Executive Officer of Armor Health, expressed his pride in the awards received by the staff, stating, “Our goal is not just to meet the standard; it is to set the standard for correctional healthcare.” He acknowledged the exceptional teamwork displayed by the nurses and the local Sheriff’s office, emphasizing the impact of their actions on the lives they saved. Campo highlighted the compassionate care these professionals provide, which reflects their commitment and skill.
