Join the Excitement of the 44th St. Anthony's Triathlon

As the countdown begins, athletes are gearing up for the 44th edition of the St. Anthony's Triathlon scheduled for April 23-25, 2027. Registration opens at noon on June 15, inviting both seasoned and novice triathletes to 'Find Your Finish Line.' This iconic event will see participants from across the nation and around the globe, after a successful showing of over 3,400 athletes in 2026. Patrick McGee, the Triathlon manager and race director, expressed excitement about the competition, which welcomed racers from 44 states and 12 countries last time around.

What to Expect

The St. Anthony's Triathlon comprises various events, including the Olympic, Sprint, and the family-friendly Meek Mighty. Athletes who register during the inaugural week will benefit from the lowest registration fees of the season, making it a prime chance to join this celebrated race.

Scott Smith, President of BayCare's St. Anthony's Hospital, shared his enthusiasm, stating, "This is one of my favorite times of the year as both a participant and as part of organizing our weekend event." He continued, "We welcome athletes in our community, from around the country and around the world to be a part of our 44th Triathlon."

Highlights of the Event

The triathlon includes:
  • - Olympic-Distance Triathlon – Set for Sunday, April 25, known for attracting a talented professional field.
  • - Sprint Triathlon – Also on April 25, it features shorter distances over the same course as the Olympic event.
  • - Meek Mighty Triathlon – Taking place on Saturday, April 24, this race is designed for novice adults and children new to triathlons. A pool swim kicks off this engaging event, followed by a bike ride and run around downtown St. Petersburg.

The race circuit includes swimming in Tampa Bay, biking past St. Petersburg's scenic neighborhoods, and running through its historic districts. Additionally, participants can enjoy the St. Anthony's Triathlon Sports Fitness Expo, showcasing the latest tech for triathletes, along with workshops and informational booths from St. Anthony's Hospital and BayCare services.
