Report on Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 CHARISMAX III

On November 22, 2025, the Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026 CHARISMAX III qualifying event took place at Shibuya duo, hosted by Anomaly Inc., a major organizer of dance competitions. This event is part of the largest 1-on-1 solo dance battle series globally, known as Mynavi DANCEALIVE 2026, which has garnered immense popularity since its inception in Japan.

Winners and Future Competitions

During CHARISMAX III, dancers passionately competed to secure their place in the final event scheduled for April 2026. The event not only showcased high-caliber talent but also fostered a vibrant atmosphere filled with the beats of music curated exclusively by DJs. To progress to the finals, competitors had to impress judges and audiences alike with their creativity and style.

Organized in multiple stages, Mynavi DANCEALIVE features qualifying rounds across Japan, comprising regions such as Tohoku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, and Kyushu. The upcoming qualifiers will take place in several cities throughout these areas as dancers vie for the top spots leading to the grand final.

Overview of Mynavi DANCEALIVE

Initially established in 2005 as “DANCE@LIVE,” this dance battle has evolved into the most significant event celebrating the art of street dance. Participants engage face-to-face in a dynamic, improvisational format, dancing one move at a time in response to music. The simplicity of its rules, where the winner is determined by acquiring more votes from judges, helps maintain the event’s exciting and competitive essence.

The competition is categorized primarily into GENERAL division, featuring five styles: HOUSE, BREAKING, HIPHOP, ALL STYLES, and POPPING, allowing dancers to showcase their unique talents. Additionally, there is a KIDS category for young dancers. Throughout the year, eight regions – including Hokkaido, Tohoku, Hokuriku, Kanto, Chubu, Kansai, Chugoku, and Kyushu – host qualifying events, culminating in a premier show in April.

Specific details about regulations can be checked on the official website. Each season, the best dancers from multiple qualifying events advance to the finals. Participants can enter various styles on the same day and compete in multiple genres to get to the final.

The competitions, labeled as CHARISMAX, hold six qualifying events within one season, each featuring four styles. Moreover, Popping will have standalone qualifiers scheduled periodically throughout the season.
