Watami's Yakiniku Restaurant Supports Students with Discounted All-You-Can-Eat Plan

Watami's Yakiniku Restaurant Revamps Student Discount Menu

In an effort to support students struggling with rising living costs, Watami Incorporated has announced a price reduction for its popular student meal plan at Yakiniku no Watami restaurants across Japan. The revised all-you-can-eat plan, known as "Gakuwari Tabeho," will now be offered at a new price of 2,500 yen (tax included), effective from June 10, 2026.

Previously set at 2,800 yen, this all-you-can-eat option aims to provide an enjoyable dining experience without putting pressure on the wallet of students engaged in their studies, activities, or part-time jobs. The affordable rate applies every day, including weekends and holidays, ensuring that students can enjoy high-quality grilled meats any time they wish.

Details of the Updated Student Plan

The Gakuwari Tabeho plan is available at 19 locations nationwide, including major hubs like Yokohama and Ikebukuro. With the notable price change, not only do students get to indulge in a vast selection of 70 different types of meats for 90 minutes, but soft drinks are also included in the deal.

  • - Old Price: 2,800 yen
  • - New Price: 2,500 yen

If a group prefers unlimited alcohol options as well, the pricing has also seen a decrease — from 3,600 yen to 3,300 yen. However, students under the age of 20 will be firmly barred from alcohol consumption, adhering to Japanese laws.

How to Take Advantage of the Offer

To benefit from this special pricing, it is essential that the entire group dining at the restaurant has students. Upon entering any listed establishment, all party members must present valid student identification. It is important to note that this discount cannot be combined with other coupons or promotional vouchers.

Watami’s commitment to quality is evident in its use of premium cuts and fresh ingredients sourced and prepared in-house. Items like the "Watami Kalbi" and sliced belly meats showcase the restaurant's dedication to delicious, fresh offerings. The menu further extends to numerous side dishes and an extensive array of alcoholic beverages, including beers and highballs, enhancing the overall dining experience.

More than just a meal, Watami aims to create a fun and affordable environment where customers can create memorable moments around grilled food. The restaurant continually adapts to meet diverse customer needs through various plans such as lunch combos, solo dining options, and a Just-for-You Tabehodai experience (all-you-can-eat).

Emphasis on Safety and Innovation

Watami is not only focused on creating delectable food but is also committed to ensuring safety and comfort in its dining areas. Many establishments are equipped with advanced cooking and serving technologies such as the “Express Lane” and robot waiters, which help minimize physical contact between staff and customers, striving for health-conscious dining spaces.

In addition, substantial enhancements in air circulation and ventilation systems guarantee the restaurant’s air is refreshed every three minutes, offering a safe dining atmosphere for all diners.

Corporate Philosophy

Under the leadership of CEO and Chairman Yoshiki Watanabe, Watami Group's mission extends beyond simply serving good food. The company emphasizes a commitment to sustainability and aims to gather the most “thank yous” globally, taking into account economic, social, and environmental needs to create a sustainable society.
