Colt DCS Expands Hyperscale Data Center Operations with Inzai 4 in Tokyo

On February 26, 2025, Colt Data Center Services (Colt DCS), a prominent global player in hyperscale and large enterprise data center solutions, revealed the inauguration of its latest hyperscale facility, Inzai 4, located in Tokyo, Japan. This new addition marks the fourth operational site for Colt in Inzai, solidifying its commitment to supporting the rapidly advancing digital economy within the region.

Inzai 4's first development phase has already been completed, with 4.8 MW of power operational. When fully developed, the facility is projected to deliver a total of 20 MW, which will elevate Colt DCS's overall capacity in Inzai to an impressive 70 MW. The building is notably pre-leased in its entirety, which reflects the high demand for Colt DCS's offerings. With a strong global presence and adaptable solutions, Colt DCS continues to serve as a reliable data center partner for its clients.

The Inzai 4 facility has been developed adhering to Colt DCS's Global Reference Design (GRD) guidelines, implementing several principles aimed at reducing its carbon footprint. Key features include minimized water waste during cooling processes, the installation of low Global Warming Potential (GWP) chillers, and the utilization of minimal concrete and steel in its construction. This sustainable approach underscores Colt DCS's dedication to eco-friendly practices.

Since being the pioneer in launching a hyperscale data center in the Inzai region back in 2011, Colt has continued to invest heavily in the area, with plans already underway for the next site, Inzai 5. The region's stable rock substrate, dense fiber connectivity, efficient rail links, proximity to Tokyo, and supportive local government make it an ideal location for data center expansion.
