International Tower Hill Mines Makes Progress on Antimony Metallurgy in Livengood Gold Project Study

International Tower Hill Mines Reports Updates on Antimony Metallurgy

International Tower Hill Mines Ltd. made headlines on September 4, 2025, announcing positive findings from its ongoing antimony metallurgical study at the Livengood Gold Project, which has captured the interest of stakeholders and investors alike. This important project, located approximately 70 miles north of Fairbanks, Alaska, is not only significant for its gold reserves but also for its potential to recover valuable antimony mineralization.

The initial phase of the metallurgical study was unveiled in an announcement dated March 4, 2025, highlighting a new geological model for the Livengood deposit. Specifically, the recent S-K 1300 Technical Report Summary, revised on October 13, 2023, outlined a comprehensive overview of the existing resources and newly characterized relationships between gold recovery and antimony mineralization within the region. Through this meticulous geological modeling, an impressive total of 54 veins of massive stibnite were identified, which represent key veins for further exploration of antimony recovery.

The pre-feasibility study indicated an enviable proven and probable gold reserve of 9.0 million ounces, comprised within a total measured and indicated resource of 13.6 million ounces. Accordingly, the mine is projected to yield 6.4 million ounces of gold over a period of 21 years. This exciting development sets a secure and promising foundation for further evaluations in the ongoing work regarding the metallurgical aspects of the project.

Following the reports on March 4th, the Company undertook the task of compiling four metallurgical composites from various individual veins and subsequently forwarded them to Advanced Mineral Technology Laboratory Ltd. (AMTEL) in London, Ontario, for antimony deportment testing. These valuable composites were evaluated through both gold and antimony assays, displaying noteworthy results for each sample tested.

The assays showed the following metrics:
  • - Sample SB12: Au = 4.19 g/mt, Sb = 2.75%
  • - Sample SB24: Au = 3.72 g/mt, Sb = 2.31%
  • - Sample SB40: Au = 3.31 g/mt, Sb = 1.41%
  • - Sample SB46: Au = 3.21 g/mt, Sb = 1.05%

These values lay a solid groundwork for exploring the extraction of antimony from the unique stibnite veins present in the region. The samples underwent milling to a p80 of 250 microns, matching the grind size referenced in the 2023 Technical Report Summary. This milling was followed by a separation of the material based on size and mineralogy—key processes that aided in understanding the concentration capabilities of the antimony.

The promising findings reveal that stibnite, being the mineral form that carries antimony, is predominantly of a floatable size, which allows it to be processed efficiently. Furthermore, the high liberation rate of stibnite at the grind size of p80 250 micron indicates that extraction methods could potentially yield optimal results. As such, the results justify further testing and exploration to establish definitive flowsheets, assess flotation responses, and examine the properties of any resultant concentrates.

International Tower Hill Mines plans to expedite the next phase of this crucial work at both SGS Vancouver and SGS Lakefield. As initial findings are promising, further metallurgical testing and detailed examinations will form the scope of ongoing research to ascertain the recoverability of antimony from these stibnite veins. The journey toward obtaining economic analyses and resource estimations remains a significant undertaking requiring careful consideration and additional quantitative evaluations.

As a publicly traded company listed on both TSX (ITH) and NYSE American (THM), International Tower Hill Mines Ltd. encourages stakeholders to remain alert to forthcoming developments, particularly those outlining the expected quality and volume of the mineral resources at the Livengood Gold Project, as assessments continue to evolve. The potential for production advancement at this site is seemingly bright, contingent upon the successful execution of the outlined research objectives.

For further updates regarding this project and other corporate developments, interested parties are advised to follow the company’s announcements and reports closely, as navigating through this burgeoning domain of mineral recovery presents numerous opportunities ahead.
