36 carefully selected short films from around the globe. This event is a collaboration between the esteemed
ShortShorts brand and the immersive outdoor cinema project
CINEMA CARAVAN.
What is the Shinagawa International Film Festival?
Since its inception in 2018, the Shinagawa International Film Festival has gained notoriety as a pioneering outdoor theater event in the heart of Tokyo. This year, two distinct theater experiences will take center stage: the
“PRAY” Theater and the
“CREATOR'S” Theater. These thematic arenas will showcase a variety of short films, focusing on stories centered around a brighter future and reflections of our society.
The
“PRAY” Theater will show internationally acclaimed short films curated by ShortShorts, emphasizing themes of hope, sustainability, and the warmth of human connection amidst adversity. During weekdays, audiences can look forward to expertly selected short films, while family-friendly feature films will be highlighted on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the
“CREATOR'S” Theater will feature screenings accompanied by engaging talk sessions with creators, providing a deeper insight into the inspirations and narratives that shaped their films. Attendees can expect to hear first-hand stories from production teams about their experiences and challenges during the filmmaking process.

The festival will officially kick off on
November 10, featuring notable guests such as actor
Kanata Hongou, renowned for his roles in various hit films and drama series. During the opening ceremony, he will shed light on the fascinating world of films, including a preview of the features to be showcased at the festival.
