Conclusion of the Most International Edition of Alimentaria + Hostelco

The Alimentaria + Hostelco trade fair, recognized as a leading platform for the food, beverage, foodservice, and hospitality equipment industries, has successfully concluded its most international edition to date. With impressive attendance figures and a marked increase in international exhibitors, the event highlighted the significance of global business engagement in the hospitality sector.

Record Attendance and Global Participation

Spanning four days, the event attracted nearly 109,600 industry professionals, a remarkable 25% of whom hailed from abroad, representing 120 different nations mainly from the USA, Europe, and Latin America. Attendees were drawn to the diverse offerings presented by over 3,300 exhibiting companies, 1,200 of which were from more than 70 countries. This edition not only emphasized internationalization but also showcased the business potential and competitiveness of vital sectors within the Spanish economy.

Compared to the previous edition in 2024, the number of international companies participating surged by 30%, and the exhibition area dedicated to international exhibitors grew by 40%. Notably, European exhibitors, particularly from Poland as the guest country, alongside representatives from Latin America and North America, exhibited significant presence.

During the event, over 14,500 business meetings were conducted between participating companies and more than 2,700 buyers and importers from 120 countries, further facilitated by the fair.

Focus on the Horeca Sector and Innovation

One of the standout features of this edition was the dedicated section for the Horeca (Hotel, Restaurant, Café) industry, which expanded by 40% this year, gathering over 600 businesses from the sector. The event reinforced its commitment to gastronomy and hotel management through this strategic focus.

Innovation shone brightly at Alimentaria + Hostelco, with numerous new products and developments taking center stage. The fair acted as a showcase for groundbreaking proposals, especially those leaning towards healthier, more environmentally friendly solutions and applications of artificial intelligence aimed at achieving more personalized dietary options.

Commitment to Social Responsibility

In a collaborative effort with the Fundació Banc dels Aliments, the fair saw more than 100 volunteers collecting over 20,000 kg of food and beverages generously donated by exhibiting companies. This initiative marked a meaningful step towards enhancing community welfare amidst the grand trade event.

The excitement doesn’t end here, as the next Alimentaria + Hostelco will take place from March 20 to 23, 2028, at the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona.
