Special Collaboration Event for Valentine's Day at Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo

Special Valentine's Day Event at Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo

On February 14, 2026, Starbucks Coffee Japan will host a unique event titled "FIVE STORIES×ONE SOUND-Brewed in Coffee Moments-" at the Starbucks Reserve Roastery Tokyo. This special program features a collaboration with Hiroba, led by renowned musician Yoshiki Mizuno of Ikimonogakari, and promises an enchanting experience where stories and music intertwine.

This event will showcase real-life stories from partners working at the Reserve Roastery Tokyo, reimagined through the lens of music and narrative by Mizuno, who will serve as the event's creative director. Attendees will have the pleasure of enjoying a non-stop musical reading show, where not only narratives but also sounds of brewing coffee will create an immersive atmosphere. As a special guest, singer-songwriter Hana Sekitori will also perform, adding to the magical evening.

Mizuno's Vision for the Event

Mizuno shares his inspiration behind the collaboration:
"The starting point for this project was very simple. I have always loved coffee and have been a frequent Starbucks customer. Through a connection with the staff, the conversation began to bloom on whether we could create something together that embodies the stories inherent to this place. During our initial meeting, I learned that the coffee story, from roasting to serving, completes a cycle here, and that led to a narrative with our customers. The bright smiles of the partners left a lasting impression on me.

> "Rather than doing something just for the sake of it, I thought about how we could create an experience that incorporates the stories of this space. Based on partners' real-life experiences, we built the event around a cohesive narrative.

As partners shared their stories, Mizuno had to narrow down the selection to five, considering what would be engaging for attendees during the performance. The resulting production is not solely focused on music but aims to delicately accompany and enhance the storytelling experience.

Refining the Five Stories

The program consists of five special narratives, each one steeped in the everyday experiences of the Reserve Roastery Tokyo's partners. These stories capture fleeting moments—short dialogues, glances, and silences—that resonate quietly yet profoundly in the heart. Each story highlights ordinary emotions that illuminate the sweetness of life.

The five stories are:
1. "Ah, a Rainbow"
2. "Back to the Place of Beginnings"
3. "Across the Morning Commute Path"
4. "The Shape of Thank You"
5. "I've Come Again"

During the readings, music will weave continuously through the performance, echoing the sounds of coffee being brewed and the ambient atmosphere, creating a shared time across the audience. This event isn't just about grand expressions of love but recognizes everyday connections, allowing for quiet moments of sharing and reflection.

Special Dialogue on Coffee

Mizuno will engage in a special conversation featuring our 19th coffee ambassador, Asumi Yamaguchi, and master roaster Naoko Kidota. They will discuss their journeys into the coffee world, the essence of flavor, and what it means to work in this environment. Yamaguchi, who once couldn't enjoy coffee as a high school student, now conveys its beauty, while Kidota expresses her dedication to the quality of roasting. The Starbucks culture fosters a sense of support among partners that builds a wonderful experience for customers.

The dialogue captures the passionate energy of everyday life in the Reserve Roastery Tokyo. For more heartwarming discussions, not to mention stirring insights, check out the HIROBA official website and explore more.
