Macquarie Teams Up with La Caisse to Enhance Maple's Growth Potential in India

Macquarie Asset Management and La Caisse Unite to Propel Maple's Expansion

In a strategic move to bolster infrastructure investment in India, Macquarie Asset Management (MAM) has joined forces with La Caisse, both securing controlling stakes in Maple Infrastructure Trust (Maple). This collaboration marks a significant step forward in Maple's growth trajectory as it operates a network of toll roads across the country.

On September 11, 2026, MAM finalized the acquisition of units from La Caisse within Maple, an Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) that is building a strong presence in the Indian toll road sector. Together, they bring a wealth of experience to the table, with MAM contributing its robust asset management capabilities in India and La Caisse offering its proven track record of developing and managing infrastructure platforms.

As part of this transaction, Macquarie Asia-Pacific Infrastructure Fund 4 (MAIF4) has pledged $450 million, which includes an additional $150 million allocated for future acquisitions by Maple. La Caisse is matching this commitment, highlighting their shared confidence in Maple's future growth potential.

Established in 2021, Maple's portfolio encompasses seven toll roads across six Indian states, summing up approximately 3,328 lane kilometers under long-term concession agreements. This strategic alignment is expected to harness the robust demand for enhanced infrastructure as the Indian economy continues to expand. According to Verena Lim, Co-Head of Asia-Pacific Infrastructure for MAM, India is a critical market, and the partnership with La Caisse is a testament to their belief in the country's long-term infrastructure opportunities.

"With our local expertise and ongoing engagement in this market, we are excited to collaborate with La Caisse and aim to further develop Maple’s capabilities while ensuring its strong foundations are built upon," Lim stated.

The road network in India is one of the largest globally, spanned by approximately six million kilometers. The country's growing middle class, coupled with rising vehicle ownership, fuels the demand for high-quality transport infrastructure. As people increasingly seek efficient mobility solutions, investments in toll roads and electrification processes have become paramount.

Emmanuel Jaclot, Executive Vice-President and Head of Infrastructure and Sustainability at La Caisse, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership. He noted that their investment journey started five years ago with a single asset in India that has remarkably transformed into a leading platform in the country's road sector. This collaboration with Macquarie is viewed as a significant endorsement of Maple's accomplishments and the headway to come.

As the new chapter unfolds for Maple, both firms are poised to leverage their unique strengths for impactful growth in infrastructure, ultimately contributing to India's wider economic development. With an eagerness to write the next chapter of Maple’s story, stakeholders are ready to capitalize on the promising infrastructure landscape that India presents.
