CLEAR Launches Revolutionary SCALPCEUTICALS PRO RANGE with Patented Technology Backed by 200 Dermatologists

In a remarkable stride towards redefining scalp care, CLEAR, Unilever's premium professional anti-dandruff brand, recently launched its first SCALPCEUTICALS PRO RANGE at a grand event in Shanghai. This innovative product line is the result of more than a decade of intensive research from five global laboratories and the expertise of over 200 dermatologists.

The SCALPCEUTICALS PRO RANGE, a game-changer in the skincare industry, focuses on cellular-level repair and highlights the advancements achieved through three patented technologies. Chen Ge, President of Unilever China, remarked that this launch marks a pivotal moment in CLEAR's 50-year legacy of innovation in scalp care, emphasizing the importance of addressing consumer needs for a premium, effective solution for scalp health.

As the premium scalp care market in China is experiencing explosive growth—expanding at a staggering rate of 190% and reaching over 33 billion RMB—brands like CLEAR are taking the lead in providing a higher level of care. Elsharkawy Mohamed, Unilever China's Hair Care Marketing Director and Global Vice President of CLEAR, stressed, "The new SCALPCEUTICALS PRO RANGE will shift industry focus from basic cleansing to professional derma-level scalp care. We are now investing in the science of scalp cells to meet our consumers' needs for effective scalp health management."

The SCALPCEUTICALS PRO RANGE includes five targeted products, each designed to deliver a specific benefit to scalp health. Notably, the Selenium Disulfide Anti-Dandruff Shampoo utilizes proprietary technology to strengthen the scalp's cellular structure, effectively eliminating 99% of dandruff flakes after just one wash. Furthermore, this formula addresses issues of oiliness and itchiness within four weeks. The Anti-Dandruff Conditioning Shampoo incorporates Piroctone Olamine technology, enhancing the scalp's defenses against dandruff by 500%.

Eric Han, Head of R&D for Unilever Beauty and Wellbeing in North Asia, elaborated on the innovative technologies behind the SCALPCEUTICALS PRO RANGE. Their approach is rooted in understanding and managing both scalp microbiome and cell metabolism, which is essential for restoring optimal scalp health and tackling dandruff at its core. This perspective represents a move towards more scientific care rather than mere surface-level solutions.

In conjunction with the product launch, CLEAR also unveiled the 'Scalp Health Science Expert White Paper'. This document provides insights based on extensive research and the clinical expertise of 1,100 dermatologists worldwide. It aims to educate consumers on common scalp issues including dandruff and hair loss, addressing these problems with clinically backed recommendations for care and prevention.

"The SCALPCEUTICALS PRO RANGE symbolizes our commitment to advancing scalp care through rigorous science and research,' Chen Ge stated. 'These innovations not only elevate our brand within a significant global market but also position China as a pivotal player in the global beauty and hair care innovation landscape. By integrating more deeply into China's innovation ecosystem, we are transitioning from functional products to scientifically backed systems, driving growth in the global supply chain."

This launch signifies not just a milestone in product development but a comprehensive vision of moving towards a future where science plays a crucial role in personal care. CLEAR's proactive stance in transforming the beauty industry reflects a growing trend towards evidence-based products designed to meet the evolving needs of consumers. By investing in top-tier research and development, CLEAR is set to lead the change in scalp care, emphasizing the importance of cellular health for achieving beautiful and healthy scalps.
