Landis+Gyr Successfully Completes the Sale of EMEA Operations to AURELIUS

Landis+Gyr Completes Sale of EMEA Business to AURELIUS

In a significant move that alters its strategic focus, Landis+Gyr Group AG, a leading global provider of energy technology, announced that it has successfully completed the sale of its EMEA business segment to AURELIUS. This announcement, made on April 8, 2026, comes after the deal was initially announced back in September 2025. Following the satisfaction of all usual regulatory approvals and closing conditions, the sale took effect at the end of March 31, 2026.

As part of the transaction, AURELIUS will acquire Landis+Gyr's EMEA operations, which encompass a comprehensive range of products including residential and industrial electricity meters, gas, heat, and water meters, as well as associated integrated software and service solutions. Additionally, the deal includes five manufacturing plants and approximately 2,800 employees.

Peter Mainz, CEO of Landis+Gyr, highlighted the completion of this sale as a pivotal milestone in the company's ongoing strategic transformation. He emphasized that the divestiture sharpens Landis+Gyr's focus on the Americas and Asia Pacific regions, where the company already holds leading market positions and is witnessing a growing demand for premium software, services, and grid-edge solutions.

"This sale ensures continuity for our customers and employees in the EMEA region while also creating long-term value for all stakeholders involved. We are excited about the prospects that lie ahead as we redirect our energies towards markets where we see thriving opportunities," said Mainz.

The proceeds from this transaction are intended to be returned to shareholders as part of a share buyback program that was initiated in October 2025. This move reflects the company's commitment to retaining a solid balance sheet and financial flexibility to support future growth initiatives.
