HARS Global's CEO Akira Morishita Joins as Special Judge for AppLab's Best App Award 2025

Akira Morishita Takes on Special Judging Role for AppLab Best App Award 2025

HARS Global Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based marketing agency, has announced that its CEO, Akira Morishita, will serve as a special judge for the upcoming "AppLab Best App Award 2025." This prestigious award, hosted by Nile Corporation, aims to recognize exceptional mobile applications that stand out in a crowded market.

The selection process involves a rigorous two-round judging system. Over 70,000 app reviews are initially screened by the AppLab editorial team before a group of industry experts and notable figures conducts the final evaluation. The judges will assess applications based on key criteria, including user engagement, innovative solutions, unique features, potential for growth, and overall user experience.

Joining Morishita on the judging panel are prominent professionals such as Takeya Kajigaya, a comedian known for his expertise in iPhone applications, Takahiro Oguchi, editor-in-chief of CNET Japan, and Tomoko Suzuki, an IT journalist. Together, they will bring a wealth of experience and insight to the evaluation process.

A Marketing Perspective

Morishita, who has a robust background in mobile marketing through his experience at Bushiroad and various international marketing roles, aims to bring a unique perspective to the awards. He believes that understanding user behavior and establishing quantitative metrics are critical to identifying apps that are not only chosen by users but also continuously used over time.

In his words, "The app market is now at a stage where simply creating something 'convenient' is not enough for survival. The focus should be on the story behind the app—why it exists and how it changes people's lives." Morishita emphasizes the importance of evaluating the passion and strategies of developers, aiming to spotlight apps with enduring appeal.

Insights into Japanese Apps

With extensive experience supporting the global launch of many Japanese-made applications, Morishita recognizes the enormous potential these products have in international markets. He views the Best App Award as an opportunity to create pathways for Japanese apps to be recognized worldwide, encouraging developers to reach the next level.

"Through this award, we want to set the stage for Japanese applications to be chosen globally," he stated, underscoring his commitment to fostering growth in app innovation.
