In a significant advancement for cancer diagnostics, Sectra, a renowned international medical imaging IT and cybersecurity firm, has expanded its digital pathology solution usage in Region Västra Götaland, Sweden's second-largest healthcare region. Unlike conventional methods that rely on physical glass slides and microscopes, Sectra's digital pathology solution offers healthcare facilities the ability to manage the entire diagnostic imaging process within a single application. This transformation is particularly crucial as the region manages a diverse patient population of approximately 1.7 million through 17 hospitals, including pathology laboratories located in Gothenburg, Borås, and Trollhättan.

Jan Siarov, a Consultant Pathologist and Department Manager at Region Västra Götaland, emphasized the need for solutions that streamline pathologists' daily tasks while fostering ongoing development to meet future demands.
