On November 1st, the Royal Danish Embassy will welcome guests for its annual event, Denmark Open Day. This year, the popular sports brand hummel will collaborate with the embassy to hold exciting upcycling workshops, allowing attendees to unleash their creativity while learning about sustainable practices.

What to Expect at Denmark Open Day

Every year, the Denmark Open Day is celebrated alongside the Saragaku Festival at the Hillside Terrace in Daikanyama. The event promises a full day of experiences showcasing the best of Danish design, innovation, and gastronomy. Visitors can delight in various activities designed to offer a glimpse into the diverse aspects of Danish lifestyle.

The embassy's courtyard will transform into a delightful marketplace featuring Danish seafood, organic cheeses, and local beers. A highlight will surely be the much-loved Danish-style hot dog stand, which attracts numerous food enthusiasts every year. Additionally, John Kofod-Pedersen, founder and chef of the renowned restaurant Sorte Bøf, will give live cooking demonstrations in the courtyard, showcasing the delectable flavors of Danish cuisine.

Attendees can also immerse themselves in Denmark's rich culture through various exhibits and interactions. The event will feature displays by Royal Copenhagen and Orkair chairs, as well as activities such as building with LEGO® bricks to spark creativity and nostalgia for all ages. One of the most exclusive experiences this year is the guided tour of the ambassador's residence, which will be open to the public for a limited time.

Upcycling with hummel
