Anime Night Event at Nakano Shiki no Mori Park

From August 21 to 23, 2026, Nakano Shiki no Mori Park will transform into a captivating hub for animation lovers with the exciting event titled "Nakano Chill Night Picnic - Evening Anime Theater." Co-hosted by the Nakano City Office and Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd., this unique event emphasizes the vibrant anime culture found in Nakano while encouraging a new approach to urban relaxation.

Event Overview

This three-day celebration will feature animated film screenings projected onto the side of the Nakano Central Park East office building. Bringing together local talent, animation works from Toei Animation and other companies will be showcased. Attendees can enjoy food from food trucks, children's workshops, DJ performances, and meet-and-greet opportunities with beloved characters from popular Toei Animation series.

Local officials anticipate a greater turnout than last year, when approximately 10,500 people attended the event. To accommodate more guests, the viewing area is being expanded for this year's edition. The focal point of the event is to provide special experiences in nature, promoting nighttime economic activity and setting a model for public-private partnerships utilizing available spaces effectively.

• - Date: August 21 (Fri), 22 (Sat), 23 (Sun)
• - Animated Film Screenings: 19:00 - 21:00 (Special guest messages will precede the screenings around 18:50.)
• - Children’s Workshops: 16:00 - 19:00
• - DJ Performances: 16:00 - 18:30
• - Food Trucks: 16:00 - 21:00

Note: The event will go ahead in light rain, but may be postponed or modified in severe weather. Please check the Nakano City website for updates.

The event will take place at Nakano Shiki no Mori Park, located at 4-13 Nakano, Tokyo.

Entry to the event is free.

Organizers and Supporters

This initiative is made possible by the Nakano Anime Connection Committee and co-hosted by Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd., with support from Meiji University and other partners in the animation industry.

Special Drinks

In collaboration with Kirin Beverage and Meiji University, special drinks based on "Afternoon Tea" will be introduced exclusively during the event, and some will be available at the Nakano Ward cafeteria both before and after the event.
