Swissbit Unveils A2000 PCIe SSD Series



On June 26, 2026, in Tokyo, Japanese subsidiary of Swissbit, a leading independent manufacturer of industrial flash storage, announced its high-performance PCIe SSD series, the A2000. This new series emphasizes superior throughput and low latency, vital for applications where robust data integrity is paramount.

Exceptional Features of the A2000 Series


The A2000 series combines the raw performance of PCIe Gen4 with an industrial-grade design, advanced security features, and hardware-based power loss protection. It includes two models: the A2000, optimized for mixed workloads, and the A2200, designed for write-intensive tasks. Both models are well-suited for high-performance industrial systems, edge AI applications, and essential sectors such as telecommunications, IoT gateways, and medical imaging.

Swissbit’s A2000 and A2200 incorporate the latest 3D TLC BiCS8 NAND packaged by the company itself. This technology employs a DRAM-based controller architecture with eight NAND channels, allowing for sustained performance, low latency, and improved write efficiency. The hardware power loss protection feature safeguards data independently of the operating system, while the health monitoring functionality contributes to predictive maintenance.

According to Kenichiro Tomomori, the CEO of Swissbit Japan, the introduction of the A2000 series establishes a clear high-performance distinction within Swissbit's PCIe product portfolio. He stated, “With the versatile N7000 PCIe core platform recently launched, the A2000 series enhances the capabilities we can offer, ensuring continuous write performance, low latency, and enterprise-class reliability across demanding industrial environments.”

Tailored for Demanding Workloads


The A2000 is ideal for high-end industrial applications that require mixed read and write functions, such as boot drives and primary system storage in temperature-challenged environments. It supports up to 0.5 DWPD (Drive Writes Per Day), ensuring durability and reliability.

On the other hand, the A2200 is created for applications focused on intensive writing, such as logging systems, caching, and RAID setups, achieving over 1 DWPD for five years using enterprise-grade TLC NAND. Both models offer superior performance, exceeding 6 GB/s sequential read and 5 GB/s sequential write speeds, and boast over a million random read IOPS and up to 900,000 random write IOPS.

Security and Reliability at the Core


Security is integral to the A2000 series, featuring AES-256 encryption, TCG Opal 2.0 compliance, and secure boot functionalities to ensure data's integrity in critical infrastructures and enterprise environments. The series offers both heatsink and non-heatsink options, enabling system designers to optimize cooling characteristics based on their application’s requirements.

Availability of the A2000 and A2200


Initially, the A2000 and A2200 SSDs will be available in M.2 2280 form factors, offering capacities ranging from 480 GB to 4 TB in both heatsink and non-heatsink versions. Additional form factors, such as E1.S and U.2, with capacities up to 8 TB, are anticipated by late 2026.
