Shanghai Electric Showcases Comprehensive Solutions for Carbon Neutrality at 2026 Expo

Shanghai Electric's Impact at the 2026 Carbon Neutrality Expo

Shanghai Electric recently concluded its successful participation in the Carbon Neutrality Expo 2026, held from June 10 to 12 in Shanghai under the theme "Designing the Optimal Carbon Neutrality Solution." The expo focused on showcasing technologies, products, and innovations that contribute to a sustainable future.

At the event, the company highlighted its key capabilities in delivering comprehensive solutions for the transition to zero emissions. Shanghai Electric demonstrated its expertise in carbon-zero park construction and low-carbon technological innovations that enable a more sustainable energy landscape. The firm emphasizes the integration of a full energy supply chain to provide tailored solutions that meet different environmental challenges, thus supporting green and low-carbon development.

The industrial parks presented by Shanghai Electric are pivotal platforms for green and low-carbon development. Among the highlights of the expo was the launch of the "White Paper on Technical Measures for Planning and Construction of Carbon-Neutral Parks." This white paper serves as a systematic and practical guide for developing green parks focused on energy efficiency, energy substitution, and resource circulation. Shanghai Electric's services encompass the entire process from planning and construction through to operation, underscoring its comprehensive full-chain solutions that include clean power supply, low-carbon infrastructure, resource recycling, and intelligent operations and maintenance.

In recent years, Shanghai Electric has initiated several pilot projects aimed at developing eco-parks and low carbon emission zones, including the "Zero-Carbon Bay" project located in Shanghai's Lingang Special Area, and a smart energy park in Shantou, Guangdong Province. The Lingang project has been recognized as one of the first 52 national carbon-neutral parks in China and stands out as the only project in Shanghai to achieve this designation. It highlights Shanghai Electric's role in the planning, construction, and operational deployment of advanced manufacturing systems designed to operate under zero emissions. Meanwhile, the Shantou park uniquely integrates wind, solar, energy storage, charging, and intelligent energy management systems and has recently achieved Guangdong's first carbon neutrality certification.

With extensive capabilities in renewable energies such as wind, solar, hydrogen, and nuclear, Shanghai Electric covers the entire value chain from generation to smart platforms and energy-saving equipment. This integrated synergy provides a strong technological and industrial foundation for constructing carbon-neutral systems and environments.

For the second consecutive year, Shanghai Electric has reported significant contributions to social carbon reduction. In 2025, the company achieved a reduction of approximately 389 million tons of CO₂ equivalent, continuing to leverage its green technologies and industrial capabilities to facilitate the transition towards a low-carbon economy.

At the expo, the company also unveiled its ESG development strategy for the next phase, reiterating its commitment to innovation in clean technologies, low-carbon emissions management, and sustainability governance. Shanghai Electric aims to collaborate with global partners to support the worldwide transition to zero-carbon emissions, reflecting its vision for a sustainable future and the importance of collective efforts in combating climate change.

With initiatives like these, Shanghai Electric not only showcases technological advancements but also reinforces its position as a leader in sustainable energy solutions, setting an example for other stakeholders in the industry.
