Austin's Mayor, Kirk Watson, who issued a proclamation declaring April as Million Mile Month, stated, "One of my priorities through the Generation ATX movement is to make Austin the best place in America to be a kid. That means making sure our children are healthy. Joining the Million Mile Month challenge is a terrific way for us to develop a healthier lifestyle while having fun on Austin's beautiful lakes and trails. Among the supporters of the initiative is Tony Cucolo, a retired U.S. Army Major General and the current CEO of PCSI, a nonprofit that champions individuals with disabilities.
