Hidetoshi Yagi's Solo Exhibition 'A Life in Utopia' at YUGEN Gallery

Hidetoshi Yagi's Solo Exhibition 'A Life in Utopia'

YUGEN Gallery, located in Minato, Tokyo, will host artist Hidetoshi Yagi's solo exhibition titled 'A Life in Utopia' starting from August 29, 2025. This exciting event promises to engage the audience through Yagi's unique artistic vision and creations.

Hidetoshi Yagi, a multifaceted artist and art director, has been active in the art scene since 2011 after cultivating a successful career in advertising. His portfolio includes several annual exhibitions titled 'ART BY THE HAND EXHIBITION' held in both Tokyo and New York until 2022. Addressing emotions arising from daily life, Yagi translates these feelings into visual narratives using letters as his motif.

His works can be described as three-dimensional compositions that resemble layered models, crafted from paper and styrene boards. These intricate pieces exemplify structural beauty while simultaneously providing a form of entertainment that resonates well with contemporary art enthusiasts. Yagi's art has gained significant recognition, with a collection of 34 pieces based primarily in North America.

The theme of 'A Life in Utopia' revolves around an ideal lifestyle depicted by Yagi. He illustrates strong, free-spirited women who possess positive values and overcome the constraints of reality. Through their vibrant fashion choices and the bright atmospheres they inhabit, these figures encourage viewers to discover and realize their 'utopia.'

Yagi's philosophy stems from his belief that thoughts inevitably manifest into reality. Viewers are invited to immerse themselves in this visionary world created by a rising talent in the hopes of inspiring personal journeys towards their own versions of utopia.
