Celebrating Women Through Music: Steve Barakatt's Landmark Performance at Astana Opera
On March 8, 2025, globally recognized composer and pianist Steve Barakatt will grace the stage of the Astana Opera for a momentous solo concert. This performance is notably significant as it marks Barakatt's first appearance at this prestigious venue, making him the first North American artist to perform there. The concert will serve as a tribute to International Women's Day, highlighting the strength, creativity, and incredible contributions of women around the world.
As part of his Néoréalité World Tour, Barakatt will collaborate with an exceptional assembly of 125 musicians, singers, and dancers. The Astana Opera Symphony Orchestra will be accompanied by a children's choir and a ballet company, all directed by the renowned conductor Elmar Buribayev. The program promises to feature some of Barakatt's most cherished compositions, including Néoréalité, Flying, Motherland, Cedars of Lebanon, and Lullaby – The UNICEF Anthem.
