Introduction
Suzuka City is embarking on a new initiative called the SUZUKA@TOKYO Project. This project aims to connect young individuals from the Tokyo metropolitan area with the charm and unique experiences of Suzuka City. The Agent Inc., a Tokyo-based company led by Koji Shimiya, is collaborating with the Suzuka City Tokyo Office to promote this project.
Overview of the Project
The first activity under this initiative is the 'Suzuka Real Experience Promotion,' which will kick off with a pre-orientation on July 14, 2026. Twelve university students from the Kanto region will participate. This innovative approach to city promotion combines efforts from local government, businesses, and educational institutions, aiming to create a new model for city promotion through tangible experiences.
Importance of Real Experiences
With declining populations and the need for greater community engagement, Suzuka City has witnessed the launch of the 'Suzuka Promotion Department,' focused on young individuals living in the Tokyo area. About 100 students will be actively involved starting in 2025, championing the city's image. Despite the significant role of social media, it often fails to fully convey a region's true allure and challenges. Thus, the Suzuka Real Experience Promotion offers students firsthand exposure to the city's culture and issues.
Orientation Details
The initial orientation will focus on team introductions and information sharing about the project and problems that the city faces. Students will partake in discussions to shape the direction of promotional activities as they prepare for the on-site experience tour planned for September.
