Opening of Narxoz University’s New Business School Campus



Narxoz University in Almaty, Kazakhstan, has marked a significant milestone with the inauguration of its new state-of-the-art campus for the Narxoz Business School. This development not only enhances the educational landscape of Kazakhstan but also positions the university as a leading institution in Central Asia for business education.

The grand opening ceremony saw notable attendees, including Darkhan Satybaldy, the Akim of Almaty, and Gulzat Kobenova, Vice Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, alongside Aidan Akanov, CEO of Verny Capital and various leaders from the business community, diplomats, and academic partners.

The new campus, sprawling over 6,700 square meters, is the result of a comprehensive reconstruction project that seamlessly connects to the university's historic main building. The interior has been designed as a “living ecosystem” encouraging collaboration, creativity, and interaction among students and faculty. Boasting modern facilities like digital labs and collaborative workspaces adorned with artworks from Kazakh artists, the campus also features a high-tech interactive video recording space dedicated to educational content production.

Kanat Kozhakhmet, the president of Narxoz University, emphasized the institution's commitment to global educational standards and innovation. He stated, "Narxoz is today the premier business training university in the region. This new campus reflects our dedication to providing world-class education and fostering talent that will lead sustainable growth and innovation in Kazakhstan and beyond. With programs offered in English, Kazakh, and Russian, our students enjoy access to international-level education right here in Kazakhstan."

Aidan Akanov shared insights on the project’s vision, which reflects the commitment of their shareholder, Bulat Utemuratov, towards bolstering education in Kazakhstan. With an investment exceeding $14 million, this project enhances Narxoz’s facilities, academic programs, and overall educational environment.

Ranked among the top 50 Business Schools in Asia by the QS Global MBA Rankings 2025, Narxoz is set to become a hub for knowledge, leadership, and innovation in the region. Over the past 17 years, more than 3,000 students have completed their MBA, EMBA, DBA, and corporate programs, showcasing the institution's capacity to attract distinguished faculty and alumni from prestigious universities worldwide, including Harvard, Yale, INSEAD, and IMD.
